Christmas Eve

Christmas is a time for love and joy. It’s a time for cheer and you can smell it in the air. Crystal was especially excited for this season. She waits all year long and can’t control her excitement when it comes around the corner. She loves all the traditions that her family does, and who close the season brings everyone together. It was a week before Christmas and Crystal was out of school. Her schedule is jammed packed for the next week. She was going ice skating and playing in the snow everyday. She was just so excited. But what she really couldn’t wait for was Christmas Eve. Christmas Eve is her day that she loves. First she wakes up bright and early with her whole family and does a service project. It takes a couple of hours, but it goes by really fast because of how much fun it is. After that she goes with her sister and they go shopping for the Christmas stockings, it’s a tradition her family has. The kids get the parents credit card and they get to go buy everything to put in the Christmas stockings. Since they started this their stockings have been ten times cooler. After that her whole family gets together and they watch a Christmas video. It’s ranged from Christmas Story to The Nativity Scene, it changes every year and every year her father falls asleep. Soon when he wakes up they have a huge dinner nice dinner. Her mother spends all week putting this dinner together and it’s just way nice and she adores it. After they stuff their faces full they all get bundled up hard core, all grab some kind of dinky instrument or something that can make noise (her dad always has his accordion). Then they go out Christmas Caroling. They go to all there friends houses and sing really fun songs, not always being Christmas songs and they think that makes it more fun. When they are all sung out they head back home and get together around the fire and open one present. It’s always the same present to. Pajamas!!! The whole family races to go put them on and then they all look comfy and cozy. When it’s time to head off to bed, her four brothers and one sister go to her room, because it is the biggest. They push the beds together and they all pretend to sleep for the night. Usually they just giggle till they actually fall asleep, but its way late by that time. The next morning they all wake up bright and early and spend an hour just trying to get her parents out of bed. Finally when they do they have to go wait by the stairs before they enter the kitchen. Every year they come up with some random order to how to place the family and who gets to go in the room first. And every year Crystal goes at the very end because all the kids do it on purpose. She’s learned not to care anymore though. She’s just happy that it is Christmas.
